Description

Young Reza Gard thought the Kreelans had taken everything from him, but they were just getting started.

When the Kreelan galactic empire invaded his homeworld and the mysterious warrior priestess Tesh-Dar killed his parents, seven year-old orphan Reza Gard was cast into the Confederation's orphanage system.

Winding up on the breadbasket world of Hallmark where children were used for slave labor, Reza discovered that the Kreelans weren't his only enemy. The abusive overseer at the orphanage has Reza in his sights, and Reza's only ally is Wiley Hickock, a badly-wounded former space Marine officer who becomes Reza's protector and surrogate father.

Five years later, everything changed: the brutal overseer was dead, the orphans around the planet had been freed from servitude, and Reza found himself falling in love with a fellow orphan, Nicole Carré.

But the good times weren't destined to last: not long after Nicole leaves for the Naval Academy, a massive Kreelan warship commanded by Tesh-Dar arrives. But she has come this time not to invade and bring humans to battle, but to harvest human children to take back to the Empire as part of a grand experiment on which the fates of both civilizations will depend.

If you enjoy epic tales of of forbidden romance, alien invasion, and coming of age, blended with science as magic and loaded with action and adventure, you'll love Empire, the fourth book of the In Her Name saga.

This is a riveting novel from start to finish. From the loss experienced by a young Reza, to the new love found and sacrificed as is the way. I can't wait to read the remaining novels in this trilogy.
