Description

An Apple Books Classic edition.

Few characters have seized readers’ imaginations quite like Count Dracula of Transylvania, the hero of Bram Stoker’s classic. The 1897 novel put vampires front and center on the cultural map, providing direct inspiration for an entire subgenre of bloodsucker fiction - including blockbusters like theTwilight series and Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles - and spawning hundreds of movie adaptations!

Stoker’s novel is a thrill ride, following Dracula as he moves from Transylvania to England in search of fresh blood, while a small but dedicated group attempts to thwart him. Want more Stoker? Check out his great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker’s 2018 novel, Dracul.

This was a very good read; however, some parts were hard to read for example when the POVs switched to the less educated storytellers, it became very difficult to me to stay focused and comprehend. I understand that it was being authentic and consistent to that person’s perspective but it only annoyed me. I already had to use the look up feature for half the words throughout the text and to add to that now there’s someone who’s clearly illiterate speaking in riddles to me. It was a great read altogether but the mix of grand vocabulary and random, brain-rot monologues gave this a four out of five rating.

Dracula - Bram Stroker I love reading classics around October and Halloween. I love that Mina, was the reason that Jonathan and Van Helsing and the others found Dracula. I loved this story and the focus on love and friendship and being together. I love how Mina and Lucy were portrayed especially compared to other works of the time. I found out that there’s more books in this universe so I’d definitely be reading those. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Out of 5 Stars ⭐️ # of Pages 🌙 589 pages Release Date 🌟 5/12/1986 Format 💫 Physical, Audio, Digital Series 🌙 Dracula, #1 Genre/Tropes ✨ paranormal, horror, Victorian fiction, Victorian era, historical fiction, vampires Favorite Character ☀️ Mina Favorite Line 🌟 ‘For the dead travel fast’ ‘The castle is a veritable prison, and I am a prisoner!’ “We learn from failure, not from success!” “We want no proofs. To be able to read this book for free on my mobile device. I haven’t read a book to completion in probably 20 years or more and now I want to read more and more. This story is incredible and recommend it to anyone. Especially those that aren’t “into” reading. You’ll enjoy yourself without a doubt.

Got book! Loved how the used the journal entries instead of just writing a story! Only thing I disliked was how long they dragged out Lucy illness & death. 9/10

Had to read the original book after viewing the castle in Transylvania At times it was hard to understand the 1800 dialogue but just work through it for the story line

It dragged in some parts, but the ending made it worth it! As another reviewer stated, it’s awesome to read where/how an entire genre of horror got started. 10/10
